The suppository disintegration test determines whether suppositories disintegrate or soften within a prescribed time when placed in an immersion fluid. Water can be used as the immersion fluid, maintained at a temperature of 36–37°C. The test requires three suppositories and the procedure is applied to each of the suppositories.
The URB-1 Suppository Disintegration Tester comes with three turning test baskets, each located inside a five-liter glass beaker. The beakers are placed in a thermostatically heated water bath (non-leaking and double secured), in which the test stations are placed. The nominal bath temperature and test duration are easily entered via the control panel. The control panel will show the actual test time and temperature on the LED Display.
